About My Practice

I am Dr. Kelly Mason, the owner of REvise Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in West Virginia, an Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor, and I hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.

At the heart of my work is the belief that people are not limited to the stories they have inherited, survived, or repeated. Counseling offers space to slow down, understand those stories with compassion, and begin revising the patterns that no longer serve you. I am passionate about helping children, adults, and families strengthen emotional well-being, build healthier relationships, and move toward meaningful change.

My clinical approach is grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with additional training in TEAM-CBT, trauma-focused CBT, and TraumaPlay. I also integrate trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive, and neuro-informed perspectives to help clients better understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, behavior, relationships, and the body’s stress response. Whether working with adults, children, or parents and children together, I aim to create a safe, collaborative space where growth can take root.

In addition to my clinical work, I am committed to developing future counselors. I have served as a clinical director, mentor graduate interns and supervisees, and am an adjunct instructor in a master’s counseling program. My doctoral research focused on integrating neuroscience-informed counseling competencies in counselor education, reflecting my ongoing interest in how research, brain-based understanding, and practical counseling skills can strengthen clinical care.

At REvise Counseling, my goal is to meet clients with warmth, respect, and curiosity. Together, we work to honor the story that brought you here while cultivating new possibilities for healing, connection, and growth.
