About My Practice
Life can look fine on the outside while feeling very different on the inside. Anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion, overthinking, or feeling disconnected can be signs that something isn't working the way you'd like it to. You're not alone in this experience. And therapy can give you a place to slow down, make sense of what's happening, and start figuring out what comes next.
The relationship you have with your therapist matters. Here's a little about me and how I approach therapy, so you can get a sense of whether we might be a good fit.
How I work
I work with adults navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, self-esteem, perfectionism, grief, and life transitions. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. I want to understand your experience and create a space where you can explore what's happening, what matters to you, and what you want to change. And then, we do the work.
As part of therapy, I use TEAM-CBT, a collaborative, interactive, evidence-based approach developed by Dr. David Burns. In practical terms, that means we don't just talk about what's bothering you. We work together to understand your concerns, identify the thoughts and patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and practice specific strategies for creating change. We also check in about how therapy is going and whether what we're doing is actually helping you.
When emotions or experiences are difficult to put into words, I might integrate mindfulness, somatic approaches, or expressive arts therapies. Mindfulness can help you slow down and become more aware of what's happening in the present moment. Somatic approaches can help you notice what your body is communicating, while art and other forms of creative expression can help clarify experiences that are difficult to express verbally.
A little about me
I'm particularly interested in the moments when life asks us to change whether that's navigating a career transition, a relationship shift, a loss, or simply realizing that the way you've been living no longer feels right. These transitions can bring uncertainty, but they can also create an opportunity to better understand what you want and who you're becoming.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 25 years as a tech leader, working with others to solve complex problems. Ultimately, I learned that the hardest problems aren't technical. They're human. Eventually, I made a significant career change into mental health.
Making that transition gave me firsthand experience with the uncertainty that comes with changing direction, figuring out what you want from the next chapter, and learning to listen more closely to what is happening inside. That experience continues to shape how I work with clients: with curiosity, honesty, and a belief that meaningful change starts with understanding what's really going on beneath the surface. My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling understood and with greater clarity, a deeper connection to yourself, and more room for choice.

If any of this resonates with you, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. You don't need to arrive with a clear explanation of what's going on. We can start with what you're feeling, what's happening in your life, and see whether we might be a good fit to work on it together.
