About My Practice

Welcome to my practice. My name is Jessie Bannister and I’m a board certified psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. My therapeutic approach is warm, evidence-based, collaborative and effective. My goal is to meet each client with compassion for where they are starting from and recognize that each person approaches therapy at their own speed and with their own unique life experiences. I’ve worked in a range of settings including K-12 school districts, college campuses, community health organizations and major medical facilities. I ultimately chose to transition to private practice in because it allowed me to have greater flexibility in how I support my clients. In 2020 I moved to a hybrid practice of teletherapy and in-person psychotherapy that serves clients throughout the state of California. I enjoy utilizing the TEAM-CBT approach with clients because I have seen firsthand how immediately helpful the model is. I appreciate that it provides insight and actionable ways to better relate to our emotions, thoughts and beliefs and provides clients with skills they can take with them outside of the therapy room.
