About My Practice
I’m a transformational psychotherapist with 30 years of clinical experience and a proven track record of helping others heal, thrive, and live more fulfilling lives. I have a deep understanding of how the mind works, human behavior, and how to elicit change using proven and effective therapeutic techniques. My primary modalities for wellness include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have also studied Unified Protocol, which is an evidence-based and highly effective form of CBT.
I sincerely appreciate the complexity of the human experience, which is why I’ve continued to advance my clinical education and gather skills and knowledge in a variety of clinical settings. I’ve worked in settings such as battered women’s shelters, medical and psychiatric hospitals, foster care and adoption, prisons, victims of sexual abuse and violent crimes, juvenile detention centers, community-based outpatient treatment centers, emergency departments, psychiatric crisis services, and substance abuse/detox centers. Working with a variety of populations allowed me to gain experience and insight into the diverse ways people struggle, suffer, heal, and thrive.
My therapeutic approach is empathic, interactive, and nonjudgmental, with an appreciation for diversity. I present myself as an authentic person, and my communication style is gentle yet direct. I’m goal-focused and strive to have you experience measurable outcomes.
I know your circumstances are unique, and we’ll work together to choose the proper treatment for your goals.
