About My Practice
Choosing a great therapist in New York City and its neighboring counties can seem like a daunting task. There are so many therapists to choose from! This decision can sometimes add to the overwhelm and anxiety you've already been feeling in other parts of your life. It can even be an obstacle to starting therapy.
I love to help and work with people who are challenged with anxiety, panic, overwhelm, and low self-esteem get relief from their pain. I have a bevy of tools to teach my clients that will enable them to overcome these often crippling emotions.
My clients who wholeheartedly commit to using the TEAM-CBT method make greater strides towards their therapy goals and in a shorter amount of time. When my clients are fully present during our therapy sessions and are intentional about working towards change on the days in between sessions, then the positive changes they've been hoping for begin to happen.
I've been a therapist for over 30 years and have practiced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for the last 20 years. Over the course of my career, I've collected varied knowledge and skills that I bring into my sessions to the benefit of my clients. These experiences include my work with individuals traumatized from the 9/11 World Trade Center attack, and training in Exposure and Response Ritual Prevention for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
By the end of treatment, clients have told me that they feel better, freer, less burdened by fear and anxiety, and more present in their lives and with loved ones. Panic attacks have subsided, social anxiety has gone, and clients have a better understanding of the source of emotional and sometimes physical pain, as well as a toolbox of techniques to target their problem that they can use over a lifetime.
