About My Practice

Are you prepared to embrace genuine change in your life, progress beyond mere conversation, and undertake the necessary efforts to overcome your obstacles? I am here to assist you in achieving these goals. I enjoy working with people who are willing to do therapy homework so we can ensure they acquire new skills. The primary concerns I address include depression, including self-esteem, chronic depression (depression due to chronic illness and pain), sleep disturbances, relationship issues, social skills development, and communication difficulties.

Our collaborative journey towards change begins with understanding your unique situation, complex identities, and life circumstances. Then we will develop an effective plan. Subsequently, you will be introduced to and practice tools to create change.

Typically, my clients require between 7 and 10 hours of therapy to meet their therapeutic goals. You can choose between scheduling 60-minute weekly sessions or opting for intensive sessions, which involve longer sessions over a condensed time frame. To check my client's progress and ensure therapy is progressing in the right direction, I employ routine outcome measurement.

My unique training and identity allow me to create a specialized client experience. I am both a psychologist and a physician. My medical training enhances my role as a psychologist as I educate clients about the mind-body connection. My personal background instills a deep sensitivity and respect for different cultures and social backgrounds. I am able to provide therapy in English and Hindi and am sensitive to the needs of clients from South Asian countries and those with Islamic cultural backgrounds.
