About My Practice
Greetings and welcome! I'm so glad you're here.
If you are an individual who needs help managing anxiety, dating/ relationship, race/ethnic challenges, social skills, self-esteem, finding purpose/ direction, or you just need to have someone in your corner to help you navigate the twists and turns life presents, I am here to help. Beyond just listening, I want to help guide you in doing some real work to create lasting change in your life.
A Little About Me
As a dedicated therapist, people are my passion and I enjoy being a small part of someone’s life journey. Before becoming a therapist I spent time working in marketing, and as a substitute teacher. I met some amazing individuals and truly enjoyed working with students, but found my career passion upon entering the field of mental health. Outside of therapy, I enjoy mentoring the younger generation, volunteering, attending group workout classes, and spending quality time with my family and close friends. I enjoy working with all ages ranging from children to mature adults. I have a teamwork mentality and enjoy working to help others navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner strength.
My Practice Style
My practice focuses on empowering people to better understand themselves and cultivate lasting mental wellness. In our work together it is my desire that you do not feel alone. Some of the best results come from clients who put in the effort as we do the work, and engage in therapy homework between sessions. My approach to therapy requires active participation and collaboration to achieve the desired results. As a team we can achieve the changes you wish to see. I want to get to know you and any values you hold deeply so that we may come up with a game plan that is unique to you! We will design a treatment plan that captures the vision of how you see your life, and the steps it will take for us to get there. You will learn a replicable process: identify achievable goals, overcome barriers to change, learn and master new skills.
What to Expect
Anywhere from 3-12 therapy hours is the target for achieving goals. Typically, I meet with my therapy clients for an hour weekly (or biweekly) to achieve their goals. I use data to track progress and use brief mood surveys to monitor progress and help identify stuck points or challenges as well as successes. Successful outcomes I like to highlight are positive mood, higher levels of optimism, increased energy and drive, increased confidence, successfully implementing learned skills at appropriate times, and an increase in overall well- being.
