About My Practice

Hello and thanks for visiting my profile.

I have a few areas of specialization, which may be helpful to know up front (but I am open to working with almost anyone who feels a sense of compatibility).

Parenting:
-Stress and overwhelm related to parenting
-Relationship issues: intimacy shifts, or disconnection after having a baby.
-Early parenting: identity loss, ambivalence, and burnout.
-Fathers seeking emotionally intelligent parenting strategies

Spirituality and meaning:
-Integrating spiritual or contemplative experience into daily life
-Religious trauma and deconstruction
-Recovery from high-control spiritual groups
-Support in establishing or maintaining a spiritual practice, or a meaningful framework for living, outside of established traditions

Men's issues
-Balancing provider roles vs. emotional presence.
-Struggles with purpose, connection, and authenticity
-Conflict avoidance and communication work.
-Midlife reevaluation: purpose, legacy, and fulfillment

I draw from evidence-based approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy, as well as somatic, contemplative and mindfulness-based methods. I spent seven of my most formative years living in Zen Buddhist monasteries, where I was ordained as a monk and received training in meditation practice, spiritual counseling, and Buddhist ethics. As a therapist and social worker, I have enjoyed working with clients experiencing depression, challenging life transitions, end of life issues, ADHD, anxiety, and anger management issues. Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll identify what meaningful change looks like for you and build a plan to make it happen. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
