About My Practice
If you’re thinking about therapy, chances are something in your life feels stuck or harder than it should. Anxiety may be taking up too much space. Relationships may keep falling into the same painful patterns. Or you may feel frustrated that understanding yourself better hasn’t translated into real change. Many capable, thoughtful people reach this point—it’s often what brings them to therapy in the first place.
The good news is that meaningful change is possible, and it doesn’t have to take years. I work with evidence-based approaches that focus on helping people feel better sooner while building skills they can continue using on their own. I help clients reduce anxiety and depression, break self-defeating habits, improve relationships, and regain a sense of confidence and direction. I especially enjoy working with gay men on a variety of issues, for example social anxiety—the fear of being judged, evaluated, or rejected in social or professional situations.
My approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on results. Therapy is active and goal-oriented. We work together to identify what’s keeping you stuck, try out new ways of thinking and responding, and practice strategies that lead to lasting change—not just insight.
I tend to work best with clients who are willing to engage actively in the process, since that’s where therapy is most effective. If you’re looking for therapy that is thoughtful, structured, and focused on meaningful change, I invite you to reach out to see whether we might be a good fit.
A little about me: I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California and have been a licensed psychologist for over 35 years. In addition to offering psychological services in a variety of settings, I developed and directed an APA-accredited program at Mount Saint Mary's University. I am very excited to relaunch my clinincal practice in association with the Feeling Good Institute.
