About My Practice

From Potential to Progress: Activating Your Change

Are you feeling stuck or struggling to make a desired change? I believe people have an incredible potential for growth. Many struggle to identify necessary changes, initiate action, or maintain momentum. Being stuck prevents increased meaning, joy, and happiness. Whether you're grappling with unhelpful thoughts, motivation issues, identifying priorities, or avoiding discomfort, I can help. Change demands deliberate, effective action. I specialize in helping clients activate this change.

My Approach: Structured, Evidence-Based Healing

I move beyond traditional "talk therapy" to provide a clear, structured path toward results. By utilizing high-impact therapeutic modalities; TEAM-CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction techniques, and Non-Violent Communication; I help you gain the tools needed to navigate life's challenges independently.

No matter your age or stage of life—whether you're an adolescent, a young adult, or navigating later years—and regardless of whether you're facing a specific mental health diagnosis or a general feeling of unfulfillment, my commitment is to support your journey. I aim to help you move beyond feeling stuck and step into a life of "embodied, active healing." Through a partnership built on compassion and empathy, we will work together to build a practical toolkit you can use to navigate any challenges that arise.

Meet Dr. Jacob Eide

I am Dr. Jacob Eide, a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience. I am a compassionate caring individual that strives to be the best that I can be at any given moment. Sometimes I am successful, many times I am not. I value honesty and integrity. I sometimes struggle with negative beliefs about being worthy. I may present as shy in personal relationships, but be more extroverted professionally. I am working towards more intentionality in my life, attempting to be more open and light hearted, playful, and emotionally vulnerable. I enjoy being outdoors and exploring the Eastern Sierra on foot, bike, skis, snowboard, and kayak. I enjoy making music, learning and playing musical instruments, and playing board games. I find mindfulness and yoga practices beneficial to my health and wellness.

My background includes extensive work with:

          • Depression and Anxiety

          • PTSD and Trauma

          • Insomnia and Sleep Disorders

          • Chronic Pain Management

          • Adjustment to Major Life Transitions

          • Health Related Challenges that are Impacting Quality of Life

Having adopted 3 children from foster care and having lived outside the United States for two years, I also bring a unique perspective to helping clients adjust to major cultural changes and life transitions.
