Welcome to my page. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about your next steps, you're not alone. Life’s challenges—whether anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or questions of identity—can feel daunting, but real change is possible. I know this not just as a therapist, but as someone who has navigated my own journey of resilience and transformation. I’m here to help you move beyond just talking and toward meaningful, lasting change.
Growing up gay in Siberia and Moscow shaped my understanding of adversity in profound ways. As I built a career in academia, working as a professor and pursuing a PhD, I also witnessed firsthand the increasing suppression of LGBTQ+ rights. When I no longer felt safe, I made the life-changing decision to move to California and start over, dedicating myself to helping others through psychotherapy. With a psychology, teaching, and linguistics background, I bring a deep understanding of human behavior, communication, and identity formation to my practice. My approach is structured, collaborative, and evidence-based, integrating TEAM-CBT techniques to help clients overcome emotional distress efficiently.
Our work together will be goal-oriented and tailored to your unique experiences. First, we will gain insight into what’s holding you back. Then, we’ll create a clear plan to help you break free from limiting patterns, develop resilience, and build the confidence to navigate life’s challenges. My approach is active and skills-based, ensuring you leave each session with practical tools you can use right away.
Most of my clients experience significant progress within 8-12 sessions, whether through weekly meetings or an intensive format for faster results. I track progress using outcome-based measures, so you’ll always know where you stand and when you’re ready to move forward independently.
