About My Practice

It can sometimes be so hard to find the right therapist for you- a therapist who you can connect with, and who can truly help you address the specific challenges you’re facing. When you're struggling, it’s especially hard to “shop around” to find the right therapist. But there is hope. I practice a form of therapy that is based on the best evidence to bring about results, and at the same time, compassionate and flexible enough to adjust to your specific needs and goals.

Don't know what your needs or goals are? No problem, we’ll work together to explore and define them, and then help you develop the tools you need to experience the changes you want to see in your life. Throughout this process, I will support you as you learn new skills, and with sufficient practice, you can expect to start feeling better within 10 sessions or less.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages, and have experience helping people recover from depression, anxiety, life-transitions, purpose-finding, low self-esteem, trauma, habits/addictions, sleep difficulties, relationship challenges and more. I have a particular passion for working with clients who are in academia or struggling with OCD. In addition to my TEAM-CBT certification, I also practice Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I'm also an experienced meditation practitioner, and enjoy incorporating mindfulness/meditation into therapy for clients who might be interested. In my former career as a neuroscience researcher, I witnessed first-hand the often destructive impact of high-intensity environments on a person’s mental, emotional and social health. I know how hard, and sometimes even hopeless life can feel. I was lucky enough to come across the therapy techniques that I now practice, and observed their ability to transform hopelessness and worry into relief and even joy. Now, as a therapist, I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to share those techniques with others.

My experience as a neuroscientist allows me to apply a scientific mindset to quickly find the most effective methods for each client. At the same, my practice is built on a foundation of nonjudgmental, mindful compassion- creating a warm, welcoming environment in which you feel comfortable enough to open up and supported enough to try new and sometimes challenging approaches.

At the end of the day, our goal is to work together to get you feeling better as soon as possible. We aim to empower you with the tools you need to “graduate” from therapy for good, and to confidently face any future challenges life has in store.
