Course Overview
With lively videos, quizzes, therapy role plays, case examples, and interviews with the source - Dr. David Burns, you will learn the processes of therapy that have been shown to have the greatest impact on positive therapeutic outcomes. While you work through the material on your own time, you will also have 6-months of access to a free weekly practice group to help support you in refining your therapy skills.
First you'll learn about measurement, also known as routine outcome monitoring. Next, you'll learn therapeutic empathy skills that will help you build a strong therapeutic alliance with your patients. You'll learn step-by-step how to reduce resistance and boost motivation so that you can connect with, and help, even your most challenging patients. You will learn many cutting edge Cognitive and Behavioral techniques, such as examine the evidence, re-attribution, the survey technique, the double standard role play technique and more! And finally you will learn how to implement exposure therapy and tips to increase the effectiveness of exposure therapy to address all kinds of anxiety. At the end of the course, you will be given a test to ensure you have learned the skills. Passing this test is required to receive CE credit and TEAM-CBT Level 1 certification.
