How did you discover TEAM-CBT?
Through fellow therapist, Caitlyn Woodhouse, MA/LPCC. What started as a conversation about how Caitlyn loved the work she was doing quickly became became a referral to apply with FGI’s internship program. In preparation for my interview and digging a little deeper into TEAM-CBT, I was intrigued and wanted to learn more.
What are your specialties / clients you love to work with?
I love working with older teenagers, young adults, and older adults, who have experienced trauma and would like to begin healing.
What is your favorite TEAM-CBT technique?
Reattribution and Externalization of Voices. I love using reattribution to help clients extend their perceptions outside of the “tunnel vision” that develops from ruminating thoughts. And, I mean, come on...who doesn’t love Externalization of Voices, am I right?
What are you reading or listening to?
I’m actually listening to The Feeling Good Podcast, which is so helpful in explaining and executing the model with my clients. I am also learning more about the Internal Family Systems model, in hopes of it deepening my work with those who have experienced trauma.
Please share a fun fact about yourself.
I love weightlifting/exercising with weights. I have a personal record of back-squatting 180lbs.
